This is such a beautiful park. I had so much fun following this family around on their adventure there. Ducks to feed, pigeons to chase, mud to step in! After one quick look through the several hundred pictures these are the ones I marked as quick favorites!

Birth Photography --

It is a good thing, that I took my sister's maternity photos this past Thursday, because she had the baby today!!! I was right there by her side doing my best to document the birth in a beautiful way. Here is the video I made from some of the best photos!

This was more fun than I thought. I have never done maternity photos (and who better to practice on than your sister.) We both agreed that ribbons, bows, belly exposing, etc. . . were definately NOT our style. We just took some beautiful, clean, shots of how she really looks --

and she looks pretty amazing for 38 weeks!

This handsome boy belongs to me.  I've photographed lots and lots of children.  Some are more willing than others to sit for me.  It isn't easy to get my son to sit for me and my camera.  He's pretty vocal about how much he dislikes getting his pictures taken.  So I did what any good photographer mom would do to get my child to sit for me.  I bribed him with a new iPad game.

And I am so glad I did.

Edited vs. Unedited | Fairfield County Photographers

Have you ever wondered what Jamie & I are talking about when we say we are working on "editing" your images? 

I thought this example might help you visualize what we can do to make a good photograph great.  If we've done our jobs well as photographers, we shouldn't need to do too much editing to your images.  But sometimes the editing process can help remove unwanted blemishes/marks (like the dry skin on this darling newborn's cheek).  The editing process can also lighten and soften the image to create a more beautiful portrait for hanging on your wall.

I hope this helps you understand just a little bit more about the work that goes on behind the scenes.
