My Sister's Family -- Houston Family Photography

When Lillian traveled to Utah she took pictures of her sister's family, and when I traveled to Texas, I took pictures of my sister's family! It was so much fun to do -- it was even warm outside-- which was a nice change of pace from the freezing weather we are having in Connecticut now!

Here are the details:

Saturday, November 27th between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
20 minute session
10 high resolution images on a CD with permission to print
Location is Irwin Park in New Canaan 
Cost is only $100

Want a different location?  We'll come to your house or wherever you'd like to go in New Canaan.  Just add a $20 location fee.

Confession | Connecticut Photographer

I don't usually do this, but I am going to get a little personal on this blog.  Why?  Because I think you all need to know that I LOVE being your photographer.  Yes, that is LOVE in capitol letters and green font.

Jamie and I had our first Portrait Party in March of this year.  We had both been into photography for several years.  I really wanted to take it to the next level and asked Jamie to join me.  Our first party was such a success, we had to split it into TWO days to fit everyone in.

So we came up with a business name, logo, set up our website, and we've been shooting consistently ever since.

We aren't a big business, we don't offer everything, and are definitely not a one-stop-shop.  We are small and custom.  And we like it like that.  We like natural lighting.  We like candid moments, smiles and laughs.  And we LOVE taking photos of babies and children.  And the families who created them, too.

I have so enjoyed photographing friends and their sweet children as well as all the new people I have met along the way.  Please know that I LOVE seeing your smiling faces from my computer screen as I sit and edit in my pajamas in the living room.  It makes me happy in such a fulfilling way.  You make this so enjoyable.  There is nothing better than uploading the photos from a recent shoot to see that I captured the ONE.  The perfect expression, the newborn's smile, the child's giggle as she runs toward the camera, and your family enjoying yourselves.

I know that your families and children are important to you.  They are important to me, too.  I am so happy to have the chance to capture you in a moment that you can print and hang on your wall or add to your photo album or post online for grandmas and grandpas to see.  A moment you can hang on to forEVER.

So... thank you for reading this sappy, emotional post.  And most of all THANK YOU for letting me and Jamie be a small part of your lives.

The A Family | Connecticut Family Photographer

   







This is the third time I've had the privilege of photographing these two adorable little girls.  But this time I got to take the whole family's pictures.  The A family attended our Fall Portrait Party a few weekends ago.  It was a little bit on the cold side, but the fall leaves were so pretty at Irwin Park.  Thanks for a fun session!!

Mr. J Turned Five | Connecticut Children's Photographer

This handsome kiddo is my little boy.  He recently turned five so I took him to downtown Darien to have a photo session of his own.  Of course, we ended the session with a stop at the Gofer ice cream shop to make it more fun for him.  When I look at these photos of him, I see such a grown up little boy.  What happened to my baby?  I love you so much, JMH.

Baby L | New York Newborn Photography

This little bundle was certainly a joy to photograph.  He slept so well during his session.  We even caught a couple of darling smiles!  Is there anything more precious than a sleeping newborn?  I don't think so.  Thanks D & I for having us over to photograph baby L and to share in this special time.

The B Family -- First Look

I finally have a quiet moment to sit down and look through this family session I did. And this is the 3rd picture I took of the session. So I decided to just quickly post this little sneak peek for them. Can't wait to show you the rest!!! Don't you just love fall? And that Japanese maple is just the prettiest!

Baby Newborn S -- Fairfield County Newborn Photography

We have added newborn photography! This past week I had the privilege of photographing baby S who was only 4 days old.

The F Family | Family Photography

 As much as I love all the trees we have here in the northeast, I do wish for a little more variety in backdrops for outdoor sessions besides so much green.  Being from out west, I grew up with views of the valley and the Rocky Mountains to the east.   I made a very quick trip to Utah a few weeks back to visit family.  My lovely sister asked me to do her family portraits.  The day had been rainy and cold and it was getting late, so I didn't think we'd have the best light.  But the skies opened up just in time and we had the most incredible sunset.  To top it off, the mountains were covered with trees in full fall mode and were capped with snow.  Seriously, it was perfect!  And it was so nice to do pictures of something other than green! 
I so enjoyed taking pictures of my sister, brother-in-law and my nieces and nephews.  Love you guys!

Little Miss K | Children's Photography

There are certain portraits that put me on a bit of a photography high just because I love them so much. I love the expression captured and the lights in the subject's eyes. I really love photographing children because they are so natural. And this is one of those photos that just make me happy. Miss K just so happens to be my niece, which makes it extra nice. To my dear sister and bro-in-law, hope you like this as much as I do! More to come soon.
